Big Rig Accident on I-10

At 3:30am on May 19, a big rig truck rolled over on Interstate 10 on the Trinity River bridge. This truck accident caused both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 to be closed for hours, causing serious traffic delays and multiple accidents of minor nature. This 18 wheeler was carrying some type of flammable liquid, and it spilled onto the freeway. The accident is still under investigation by the DOT’s National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration.

Angleton Teens Killed in 18 Wheeler Crash

An Angleton brother and sister were tragically killed in an 18 wheer collision.  The fatal crash occurred on I-10 eight miles east of Columbus, Texas.  An eastbound 18 wheeler crossed the center median and crashed into the Toyota driven by the teenagers and a Chevrolet driven by another driver.  The Toyota and Chevrolet both burst into flames.

Ross and Hayley Wedelich were students at Angleton High School.  They were traveling to the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo to show a steer when they were killed.  Patrick Hrncir of Halletsville, Texas was driving the Chevrolet which burst into flames.  Investigators have yet determined why the 18 wheeler crossed into oncoming traffic.

Opelousas, Louisiana 18 Wheeler Death

A 68 year old Opelousas, Louisiana man – Allen Espree- was killed when a 18 wheeler ran a stop sign smashing into his vehicle.  The collision occurred on Interstate 49 and Highway 190 in Opelousas, Louisiana.  The Euless, Texas truck driver Amos Thuo ran a stop sign when entering the highway.

Two 18 wheelers collided outside the Ford facility in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  The driver of the Pilgrim’s Pride 18 wheeler died.  The deceased was Robert Ferguson of Robeline, Louisiana.  The other truck driver was from Texas.

An 18 wheeler carrying a load of sand was involved in a 4 vehicle collision on Interstate 35 in Temple, Texas.  One of the vehicle’s occupants was transported to a hospital for treatment.
